Jodi No 1

Well I used to shout at my mother for watching all these Dance programmes(Recently almost every channel has 1 or more of this kind..!!). But last week was the first time I watched Jodi No 1. Wow, now I understand how engrossing these programmes are..!!
Wonderful direction I would say...Kudos to the director....
Though the programme more or less reminds the one in the States...still the south indian flavor keeps it cool..!
Though I am not sure about the "Reality" of this programme...it still makes me watch it...Once again Kudos..!!

Every single programme (in all channels) has one or two pairs to be the so called "Anomalies in the Matrix"...Same as in Matrix, the evolution of each season is very much based on the anomalies..!!! :-)) Once again Kudos....that is what makes the audience watch it....!!

Apart from the regular dance rounds they have a variety of other "Reality" stuff too..
For example, performances for Womens Day, special episodes focussing on the individuals..!! Oh Man..who in the world (except Truman..even he does not know that..!!) allows a camera to follow wherever they go...??!! Anyways even that makes you feel that you are along with them...!!! Again Kudos :-)

Finally, (last but not the least..!!) the judges rock....they have their unique style of rewarding the teams with points...which vary from 0 to 10...!!! They should think of negative scores too( In the following seasons may be..!!) The judges are usually the epitomes of the entertainment industry..! That is what gives the programme a good push...!! People(me too..!) like watching the histrionics of the Stars in "reality" wo'nt they??!! This Kudos goes to the Judges..!! :-))

Whatever it is this is a brilliant piece of work..!!! :-)

Simbhu's Interview

Recently I came across an interview of Simbhu. The interview was good and the host really had good/bold questions to ask.

I was really amazed by the bold and poised replies from Simbhu.

There are mixed opinions on Simbhu's behavior with the Media, which I would not like to touch upon. But this interview was totally different.

One among the answers of Simbhu was for his mannerism/style in the very early stages of his film career. He agreed that there was a huge criticism for his mannerism but also added that there were atleast 100 positive responses for the same. He concluded that If you keep doing something without getting bogged down by criticism you can multiply the positive response for any mannerism. Which according to me was a good convincing answer.

Kollywood Vs Hollywood

Though the topic has been talked upon left/right/center by most of the South Indian Film Critics and the title being very familiar to most of us, I wanted to write down something which I feel.

What is THE most important factor which differentiates Hollywood movies from Kollywood Movies?

Hollywood - The heroes are chosen for the stories.
Kollywood - The stories are chosen for heroes.

In kollywood, the value for stars is so much than for a story. One more problem is that if one storyline clicks, then there is a series of movies on the same line.

The moviemakers are not the only ones to be blamed in this. Apart from the trend being followed by the moviemakers, most of these decisions are forced to be made by the moviegoers too. Is'nt it?

Jodha Akbar

This is the first time, I am writing something about a movie.
Please do not consider this as a review of this movie.

Well the movie has many solid aspects which show that the director/crew have put a lot of effort in making a period movie.
Noticebly the grand sets...wow they are too good. They are so realistic to the extent that they look like Mughal Architecture being revived by some Scholars...!

Dress and ornaments, really catchy...both Akbar's as well as Jodha's...The armour worn by Akbar has been made with good care that it suits Hrithik very much...

The first war scene - The long shot was awesome.

Apart from the art section the movie had a good flow. It was not dragging.

Now coming to the part which I felt were the drawbacks. Honestly none of my friends agreed/witnessed this..!! :-)

I do agree this is a brilliant effort by an Indian director, but still..

Coming to the first war scene as mentioned above the long shot was awesome but when things were focussed close..it was kind incomplete. I felt the soldiers not putting much effort in fighting..For example when one of Akbar's associate is fighting with his counterpart, the soldiers around him showed less interest in fighting...probably it was because they were out of focus??!!!

I kinda got confused with the central theme of the movie...
Is it based on the love between Jodha and Akbar?
Is it a part of the big picture "Akbar the Great"?
I kinda felt that the theme had a mix of both...with the second part having a major portion..! The title could have been different:-)

Akbar as per my visualisation...was one of the strongest ruler of India...
A very aggressive ruler...and judiciously perfect...!
But the movie kinda potrayed Akbar as a highly influenced person...He gets influenced by almost every single person around him...Probably my history knowledge is too short to focus only on the great rule of this Mughal.
Even otherwise "Experience Maketh a Man" so the potrayal, to an extent was good..!

OK....If anyone else around thinks different on this do let me know...!
